Bodoni is the name of a serif typeface first devised by Giambattista Bodoni (1740-1813) in the late 18th century. Bodoni's typeface reflects Giambattista Bodoni's aesthetic sense with its clean form, austere style and pure materials combined. Bodoni fonts are still used frequently today.
In order to reflect the Bodoni font, I introduce the history, style and usage of bodoni through the interaction design of the interface.
I created a timeline based on Bodoni's in each period. When the audience clicks on the timeline of each period, the screen will switch, and the audience can watch the animation of each frame and the interaction design.
The purpose is not only to make the audience aware of the innovation of typography but also to keep the user experience from losing interest.
The Bodoni font has five different characteristics that identify it.
(1) High and sudden contrast between thick and thin strokes. (2) is an abrupt thin serif. (3) is the vertical axis. (4) Next is the horizontal stress. (5) The last feature is the ball-shaped.
Among the many books he(Giambattista Bodoni) published during this period, the most famous is his "Manuale Tipografico" (1788). In addition, Bodoni is often used in the fashion industry, such as Vogue magazine, CK trademark, because of its modern style. It is even popular for posters in the music and film industry, such as the Mamma Mia font inspired by Bodoni Poster Compressed, a serif font designed since 1798. This is the beauty of Bodoni.
When I first delved into the typographic innovations of the 18th century, I particularly liked Bodoni's designs, its clean forms and unpretentious style were enough to impress.
In this project, I keep practicing and focusing on the graphic design of the user interface and how the interaction grabs the attention of the audience.
